Terms of Use

By using this site you agree to these terms. They are short because the site is simple: it describes Dr. Gina Merritt’s work, lets you get in touch, and lets you book and pay for a session with her.

Booked sessions

What you’re buying. A session is a scheduled video or phone conversation with Dr. Merritt of the length and type described on the booking page. Payment is taken in full at the time of booking through Stripe, and you choose your time afterwards from her calendar.

Rescheduling and cancellation. You may reschedule through the calendar invitation up to 24 hours before your session. Cancellations made at least 24 hours in advance are refunded in full. Sessions missed without notice, or cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, are not refunded. If Dr. Merritt has to cancel, you will be offered a new time or a full refund, your choice.

Discounted rates. The reduced rate for BIPOC developers and entrepreneurs is offered on an honor basis and is reserved for people who identify as Black, Indigenous or People of Color. If it is selected by someone it is not intended for, the booking may be cancelled and refunded.

What a session is not. Sessions are experienced professional guidance. They are not legal, tax, accounting or investment advice, and nothing said in a session creates an attorney-client, fiduciary or partnership relationship. Decisions about your own projects and investments remain yours.

Contact and inquiry forms

Submitting a form is a request to be contacted, not an agreement of any kind. Sending us a message does not make us your advisor, partner or representative, and please don’t send information you consider confidential until we have agreed how to handle it.

GroundUp

GroundUp is a separate service with its own site and its own terms, which apply when you sign up there. This site only tells you about it and passes you to it.

Content on this site

The text, photographs and design on this site belong to Dr. Gina Merritt or are used with permission. You are welcome to link to any page and to quote briefly with attribution. Please don’t republish photographs or substantial text without asking. Press coverage linked from the site belongs to its publishers.

Figures about portfolio, units and experience are accurate to the best of our knowledge at the date shown on the relevant page and are updated periodically; they are provided for information, not as a warranty.

Acceptable use

Don’t use the site to send spam through its forms, attempt to access parts of it that are not public, or interfere with its operation. We may block access to anyone who does.

Liability

The site is provided as-is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the site or reliance on its content. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Our total liability in connection with a booked session is limited to the amount you paid for it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the District of Columbia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Changes and contact
